ABOUT US
We provide in-home, private one-on-one music instruction throughout San Diego. Lessons are given weekly and year-round with holiday breaks. We offer two recitals a year at the beautiful Schulman Auditorium in Carlsbad’s Dove Library and the opportunity to compete in local competitions such as the MTNA Performance Competition and the Helen B. Goodlin Festival. Additionally, pianists are encouraged to participate in MTAC’s Certificate of Merit Program.

Meet the teachers
JARED NEPUTE
Piano, Guitar, Voice, Ukulele
Jared Nepute founded the JN Music Studio in 2015 after moving to San Diego from New York City. He is a classically trained pianist, guitarist, vocalist, and composer. He received his Bachelor of Music from New York University. He has won numerous piano competitions including the AMSA World Piano Competition performing at Carnegie Hall and the United Nations. He also was cast as the lead in the National Broadway Tour of American Idiot with over 200 performances. He is a member of the MTNA (Music Teacher’s National Association) and has over a decade of experience teaching music privately to hundreds of students of all ages.
In 2022, he began his first Christmas songbook, arranging classic Christmas Carols for advanced pianists in a classically-cinematic style. He released his debut solo piano arrangement of “O Come All Ye Faithful” which has been purchased worldwide, including all over the United States, Canada, Germany, South Korea, Australia, and Singapore.
He currently serves as the Worship Pastor at The Gathering Church in Mira Mesa. In 2016, he married his wife, Kelsey, and they now have two children, Noa (4) & Shepherd (2) and a third on the way.
DRINIAN KING
PIANO
Drinian King has been playing piano for well over a decade. Throughout the years he has played in recitals and completed Certificate of Merit from level 5 and in his senior year of high school he completed the Advanced level. He attended Biola University, graduating in Spring 2023 with a B.M. in Music Performance with an emphasis in Piano. In 2022 he placed 3rd in the Raymond Competition which he entered while attending the MasterWorks Music Festival in South Carolina. He has played in Masterclasses with notable teachers including Sandra Wright Shen, Dr. Wael Farouk, and Dr. Lori Rhoden. While at Biola Drinian had the privilege of studying privately under Dr. Beth Nam Pak, and Dr. Li-Shan Hung.
Drinian has been passionate about expanding his musical horizons. He joined the Biola Chorale, a nationally acclaimed ensemble, from 2021-2022, and the Biola Percussion ensemble from 2022-2023. Throughout his four years at Biola, he worked as a collaborative pianist with several vocalists. Drinian is now pursuing a career in teaching people of all ages how to play piano, incorporating theory and music history.
ALEXIS MARIN
PIANO, VOICE
Alexis Marin graduated from California State University of San Marcos with a degree in Music with an emphasis on Vocal Performance, and a minor in Music Technology. She has over 5 years of experience teaching voice and piano to ages 3 and up in a variety of musical genres. Alexis has been singing her entire life and has played the piano since she was 15. Sharing her love for music with others is her passion! She also has years of experience leading worship as well as directing worship teams.
Alexis currently resides in Escondido with her husband, Andrew, and daughter, Delaney (1).
THOMAS ALBERT
PIANO, UKULELE
Thomas Albert began studying classical piano at age 9 which has led to numerous recital performances and competitions. In 2021, he placed 2nd in the CAPMT State Competition and 3rd place in the 2019 Southern California Youth Mozart Festival. He received his MTAC Certificate of Merit for Level 9 piano and was invited to perform at the 2022 MTAC State Convention. In addition to performing, he has composed several original piano solos and taught private and group piano lessons at the Wagner School of Music.
Locally, he helps lead worship throughout San Diego.
ANDREW MARIN
GUITAR, PIANO, UKULELE, DRUMS
Andrew Marin is a native-born San Diegan. He received his music degree at Cal State San Marcos and is a jazz-trained guitarist and composer. He has toured the West Coast with various artists and has performed at numerous events throughout San Diego.
He currently serves as a Worship Leader and Director of Worship for the Youth and Young Adults at Movement Church. In March 2020, he married his wife, Alexis. In January 2023 they welcomed their first child, Delaney, into the world.
BECKY FRIBERG
PIANO
Becky has been playing the piano since she was 8 years old. With a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development from Point Loma Nazarene University, Becky has enjoyed teaching children in a variety of settings for over 25 years. For the past three years, she has studied under Jared Nepute, the founder of JN Music Studio. She has also performed in many recitals. Becky currently serves regularly as a pianist on her church’s worship team. As a teacher at JN Music Studio, Becky combines her love for music and her passion for helping others grow in their own musical journeys.
BELLA Draney
PIANO
Bella began studying piano at the age of 5 and has never looked back. At a young age she fell in love with composers like Debussy, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff as well as jazz artists like Ellington and Bill Evans. Bella has experience singing and playing piano in many shows, performing in college recitals, accompanying choirs, and gigging in Jazz band and orchestra settings. Her love for music led her to Point Loma Nazarene University where she got her Bachelors in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Music while serving on one of the primary chapel worship teams. She has several years of teaching experience at the Wagner School of Music teaching group and private lessons.
Bella now serves as a Worship Leader at All People’s Church in San Diego along with her husband, Luke. Together they share a passion for bringing creativity and life to corporate worship and getting to be a part of what God is doing in San Diego through music. Bella loves what she does and believes that with hard work and a bit of discipline, students can achieve anything they put their mind (and fingers) to.
Amy Grover
piano, voice
Amy Grover has been passionate about music from a very young age. She began her musical journey singing, leading worship at just 13 years old, and later started playing the piano at 16. Amy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music from San Diego Christian College and went on to complete her Master’s in Worship Arts from California Baptist University.
Throughout her career, she has served on worship teams in various local churches, leading choirs, bands, and vocal rehearsals. Amy has also led worship for retreats and participated in worship recordings through her church, Shadow Mountain Community Church. She has a deep love for teaching music and finds great fulfillment in watching her students grow and develop their talents.
Amy and her husband, Kekoa, reside in Alpine, CA, where they serve as Pastor and Worship Leader at the Alpine campus of Shadow Mountain Community Church.
Jane breckenfeld-racuya
piano, voice, guitar
Jane Breckenfeld-Racuya studied piano and voice for 7 years while growing up in her home state, Michigan. After High School Jane took her love for music and moved across the country to join a traveling performing arts group, the Young Americans. She toured around the US, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and England teaching kids voice, dance, and performing arts. She was also a performer in the Young Americans dinner theater for 2 summers in Northern Michigan.
Jane currently serves on the worship team at her church The Gathering, in Mira Mesa, CA. She is married to her husband Anthony, and they reside in San Diego, CA with their 6 children.
michael Albert
drums, guitar, ukulele
Michael, born and raised in San Diego, began his musical journey with the guitar and drums at the age of 14. He studied various percussion styles throughout high school and beyond, developing a unique drumming style. Michael has years of experience teaching in group classes and individual, private lessons.
He also plays in multiple creative projects, percussion ensembles, and cover bands, performing at a wide range of venues. Michael loves sharing his expertise and passion for music with students of all ages.
Currently, Michael serves in the worship band at his home church and other churches across San Diego County.
